September/October 2002 issue of Atlanta Woman Magazine pg 29. 9/11 Has Some Women Questioning 24/7Dr Jill Kahn, author of The Gift of Taking and a nationally recognized therapist, understands Campbells sentiment. Kahn had done most of her work on a one-to one level, doctor to patient. But in the wake of Sept 11, "People everywhere were so traumatized, and kept asking me what they could do to create peace," she said. She created the "Pep Rally for Your Spirit" to help her patients and friends reclaim their sense of security and safety after the terrorist attacks one year ago. Kahn never expected her career to evolve into group work, or that she would become a television personality. But she has received an offer from the Wisdom Channel to broadcast her message to an audience of 10 million. "Sept 11 drove me to want to get out into the world and do something big," she says. "For somebody to take their own life and sacrifice others to prove a point is just unbelievable to be, but how do we heal the world if we can't heal at hone? I want to carry that message out into the world. If we can learn to accept ourselves, and the differences between us, we can create peace. I want to work for that. |
